Rotary is a global network of service volunteers. It is the world's largest service organisation for business and professional people with some 1.2 million members operating in 168 countries worldwide

T
he Berkhamsted Half-Marathon is an ideally-timed event for runners coming back to competitive running after winter training (or hibernation!)

It is frequently used as a serious “marker” for those training for the full marathon distances of the London Marathon and elsewhere. See Runners World details and reviews on the event. (please note that extra toilet facilities will be provided this year!)

The five mile fun run attracts many entrants and, like the half marathon,  tracks through very  attractive Chilterns countryside.

Many participants also raise sponsorship for their own particular charity

The event is organised by the two Rotary Clubs of Berkhamsted who aim to run a successful and challenging half-marathon event together with an interesting fun-run. Over the years this event has raised more than £60,000 for charity. By taking part in 2008 you will be helping raise much needed funds for the Pepper Foundation.

The Pepper Foundation provides specialist paediatric nurses who care for children with life-limiting conditions and their families via the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home organisation
